SkinsLooks Only

A plain breakdown of the cosmetic side: what the categories cover, where items come from, and confirmation that none of it touches how a round plays out.

Abyssal Escape cosmetics are split between codes, in-game progression and store items. Because codes expire, several skins that were free at launch are now only obtainable the slow way — the table below notes which is which.

Cosmetics are cosmetic only. Skins, trails and visual effects change how your survivor looks and nothing else. No skin alters speed, stamina, objective time or any ability. Stats live on the survivor roster and the abilities page.

Outfits

Full bodyPalette swaps

The base layer of customization: complete looks for survivor models, most of them sharing one silhouette with different colours and textures. Outfits are the easiest category to collect and the first thing a killer reads at distance, which matters for standing out in a crowd.

Mist trail cosmetic effect drifting behind a survivor

Mist and trails

Movement fxLayered

Effects that follow motion, from faint foot dust to heavy mist trails. They layer on top of an outfit instead of replacing it. Loud in open areas, so players who dislike being tracked at a distance tend to keep this slot empty.

Ring shaped exit flair cosmetic at the gate

Exit flair

Gate onlyRare

Visuals that only trigger during the escape itself, playing as you cross the gate. Purely for the moment of leaving, invisible for the rest of the round. Collectible items that exist mostly for the showcase.

Obtaining items

Status values are examples for layout. Sort by any column heading.

Item How to obtain Status
Sample outfit Redeemed through the codes list; see /codes/ for what is active. Example row
Sample trail effect Rewarded for completing a round objective; method stays the same across seasons. Example row

Questions

Do skins affect gameplay?

No. Every cosmetic in the game is visual. Speed, objective handling and abilities are fixed by the survivor you pick, not by what you equip on top of it.

Where do new skins come from?

The usual channels are redemption codes, round achievements, and items added through game updates. Active codes are tracked on the codes page; update notes are on /updates/.

Can retired skins still be obtained?

Treat retired items as unavailable unless a future event brings them back. This page does not claim a route that the game has not listed itself; check the in-game shop and current codes before assuming an item is acquirable.

Do cosmetics carry between survivors?

Most categories are account-wide while some items are tied to a specific model. The item description is the authority for each piece; when in doubt, equip and preview before spending anything.

Cosmetics settled? The round itself is decided by survivors, abilities and maps.
